Discuss the following topics in groups :

Question 1.
Why did the wise old bird say, “Chandni is the winner” ?

Answer:
Even though Chandni was weaker and smaller than the wolf, she put up a great fight. She lacked cowardice. She remained steadfast on her feet and embodied bravery. She acted like an intrepid soldier. She was brave enough to confront the wolf even though she ultimately lost. I believe this is the reason the wise old bird declared Chandni the victor.

Question 2.
“Death in an open field is better than life in a small hut,” Chandni said to herself. Was it the right decision ? Give reasons for your answer.

Answer:
I believe Chandni made the correct choice. Always choose freedom over incarceration. Chandni had become underweight and lost her appetite while she was in the hut. She warned Abbu Khan that if she didn't head for the hills, she would perish. At Abbu's home, she could never have maintained her happiness. Despite the fact that we are saddened by her passing, she died a courageous soldier's death. She ultimately died as a free being while maintaining a positive attitude.

Question 3.
Freedom is life. Discuss this with reference to ‘Chandni’ and ‘I Want Something in a Cage.’

Answer:
That freedom is a blessing and slavery a curse is true. Animals and birds, in addition to humans, yearn for independence. Even if it is restrained by golden chains, a bird that is kept in a cage will never be content. In the tale "I Want Something in a Cage," the stranger purchases the doves and releases them right away.

He did so because he understood the value of freedom after spending so much time in prison. In a same vein, freedom is life to Chandni. She understood that she may die. Even back then, she favored visiting the hills and lush meadows.
