Answer the following questions.

Question 1.
Where did the lady find the bear cub ? How did she bring it up ?

Answer:
In the wilderness, the lady discovered the bear cub. It was nearly starving to death at the moment. When the lady found it, it was very little and defenseless. With the assistance of her former cook, the lady brought up the subject of bottle milk.

Question 2.
The bear grew up but “he was a most amiable bear”. Give three examples to prove this.

Answer:
He was a most amiable bear. He did not harm anybody. The children used to side on his back. They slept in his kennel between his paws. The three dogs teased him in every way, but he did not mind in it the least.

Question 3.
What did the bear eat? There were two things he was not allowed to do. What were they?

Answer:
He consumed turnip, potato, bread, porridge, cabbage, and bear. He was forbidden from picking apples directly from the trees. Later, he discovered that it was illegal. He was also prohibited from approaching the beehives. He was put on the chain as a result of his actions.

Question 4.
When was the bear tied up with a chain ? Why?

Answer:
At night, the chain was used to restrain the bear. When his lover went to spend the afternoon with her married sister on Sundays, he was also shackled. His sister resided on the other side of the mountain-lake in a lonely cottage. His wandering around in the forest with all of its temptations was not intended to be a positive thing. It wasn't deemed safe to transport him to the wilderness.

Question 5.
What happened one Sunday when the lady was going to her sister’s house ? What did the lady do? What was the bear’s reaction ?

Answer:
The lady then realized that the bear was pursuing her at full speed after halfway into the woodland. The bear quickly joined her. She was quite furious. She was unable to bring him along. She sternly instructed him to turn around. She whacked his nose with her umbrella while he wasn't expecting it. He appeared to want to say something. He turned around and proceeded slowly, pausing sometimes to gaze at his mistress.

Question 6.
Why was the bear looking sorry for himselt in the evening? Why did the cook got angry with her mistress ?

Answer:
The bear was looking sorry for himself in the evening because he had been chained all day and he could not do his usual activities. She saw her mistress scolding the bear. This made her angry with her mistress.

Answer:
ome people keep monkeys, elephants, snakes and rabbits as pets. 

Question 2.
The second bear did not attack the lady because he was afraid of her. Do you agree?

Answer.
The lady thought that it was her own bear who had been following her . So she scolded the bear in her severest voice . The lady’s boldness  frightened him . But actually it was not her own bear .
